The Pranksters Theatre Company
The Pranksters Theatre Company is an amateur theatre group performing since 1977 in Guildford, Surrey. We pride ourselves on producing ambitious, innovative and creative performances with a BIG IDEA every year to bring a new angle to theatre for our audiences.
We are a small and friendly group where everyone mucks in and are always pleased to welcome new members as actors, directors, backstage crew or supporters. Our belief is “There are no small parts, only small actors”. You could play the lead in one play and be a dead body in the next as our success always comes from the passion and dedication of a full team effort!

Winner of the 5 major Academy Awards for the 1975 film starring Jack Nicholson, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest initially took flight as the iconic novel by Ken Kesey in 1962 and adapted for the stage by Tony Award winning writer Dale Wasserman one year later. An unforgettable story of the inhabitants of a mental institution in Oregon where the patients are ruled with a firm and un-bending routine at the hands of Senior Nurse Ratched. Rehabilitation means a life of mind-numbing medication and group therapy until the arrival of RP McMurphy a fun loving serial criminal determined to challenge the status quo. However no one can successfully challenge the laws of the institution where defiance will not be tolerated, whilst obedience is the only way to survive . Humorous, dark and poignant, the thought provoking subject of the treatment of mental illness and the challenge against individuality promises to be a captivating and very memorable evening for all.
